Kevin C. Brown

Lead Pastor

Bellevue First Congregational Church, UCC

Educated at the Florida State University, Pacific School of Religion, and Claremont School of Theology, Kevin currently serves as Lead Pastor for United Church of Christ congregation located in downtown Bellevue, Washington.  Bellevue is home to over 120 different tech companies and has become a destination city for the industry.  The church itself seeks to serve both the in and out (those who work downtown 9 to 5) and the down and out (those who live on the streets).

A nomad all his life, Kevin was raised by the beach in Florida, has moved around the US over twenty times, and lived in a variety of states and climes.  The recent transition from the desert of Arizona to the damp Pacific Northwest has been a bit of a challenge, but the progressive attitudes of the Seattle metro area are a welcome change from the harsh conservatism of Arizona.

Kevin continues his nomadic ways primarily through his love of motorcycles (he currently owns three of them).  Each Summer he takes a three week “Long Ride” by himself and explores different areas of the United States, staying off the main roads and meeting people on the “Blue Highways” of America.  His blog Mu-Shin Riding, reflects his travels and view on the world through the windscreen of his bike, Mu-Shin (which is a Zen term for “Empty Mind”).
